Since the ruling by the Federal Court which favoured Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir last month, some sense of normalcy has finally returned to this Silver State.
While this might be the case, there are still those who, regrettably, carry on spreading malicious lies in a desperate bid to revive their lost cause.
Just take for instance the past two weeks when all Malaysians were together celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Several Pakatan leaders, while giving their speeches at open house functions, took advantage of the opportunity to instil hatred in the hearts and minds of the rakyat.
It is sad to see that the festive mood being marred by those who simply cannot accept defeat even after the highest court has delivered its verdict.
More so when Pakatan leaders, despite not having any locus standi, started imposing conditions to work with the Barisan Nasional state government.
Imagine this - former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin and all PR assemblymen agreed to work with the BN state government but laid down four conditions
1. The BN administration must allows Pakatan parties to use public premises for the purpose of hosting functions
2. Give memberships to Pakatan assemblymen in all special committees at district levels
3. Provide all Pakatan assemblymen with allocations to the tune of RM150,000 or RM200,000
4. The BN state government must to base its administration on the principles of honesty, integrity, transparency, justice and welfare
Just who do these jokers think they are?
Zambry hit the nail on the head when he said that he would neither bend to the will of the Pakatan nor give in to the conditions they had set in exchange for their co-operation.
"I do not think they need to set it, it is not proper. We must be sincere when we help the people," was his stand on this matter.
And rightfully so.
Pakatan must stop practising hate politics and start assuming the role of an effective Opposition.
They must remember that they were voted by the rakyat to serve and not to pay mere lip service.
