I could not help but laugh out loud upon learning of Pakatan's latest campaign.

Obviously still very sore after being unseated from the state administration in February last year, these bunch of jokers launched a 15-day campaign called "Remembering One Black Perak".

And to mark the one-year anniversary of the alleged "power grab" by the Barisan Nasional, former Menteri Besar the great Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin and his comrades-in-arms have grand plans in store.

"We want the people to remember the tragedy in the power grab by the BN.

"We are reminding the people that it has been one whole long year since it happened and we want the people to know of the negative effects it has had on the country," he was quoted as saying.

And in order to refresh the memories of the rakyat, this is what Pakatan has in store:

1.    Essay writing competitions;

2.    Speech competitions;

3.    Cultural shows;

4.    A skit on how former Speaker V Sivakumar was "removed" from his post;

5.    Two large "democracy expeditions" spanning the entire length and breadth of the state.

To me, all these are extremely childish, to say the least.

Despite not being in power, these Pakatan assemblymen are still elected representatives of the rakyat.

After trying to regain control of the state administration for the past one year, and failing miserably at that, it is high time that they finally perform their duties as assemblymen.

It is simply not enough to fan out across the state reminding the rakyat of the events that led to the fall of the Pakatan government.

Nizar, Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham and Nga Kor Ming very well know what actually led to Pakatan's fall from grace.

After one year, I think the time has come for everyone to come clean and carry on with life.

Holding one campaign after another for one's own political gain will simply not benefit the rakyat in these trying times.
