One snores, one drools while the other sleeps with one eye open…

I read with glee the numerous articles published in Pakatan's media network highlighting the so-called historic convention by the three political parties.

To members of the mainstream media, often accused of being one-sided in their reporting, try and get copies of these publications and laugh your hearts out.

Take for instance, the unveiling of yet another set of "common policy network" (CPF), to further mislead the rakyat at large.

Pakatan, to date, has yet to deliver all its election manifestos and they still remain as promises even as we speak.

And yet, to boost the waning confidence among its diehard supporters, Pakatan leaders have no choice but to come out with yet another set of impossible to achieve objectives.

Several Pakatan-friendly publications even had the audacity to liken Pakatan's CPF to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's National Key Result Areas (NKRAs).

One went even further and boldly stated that the race for control of Putrajaya in the next general election appears to have begun with the unveiling of the CPF.

What in God's name are they rambling about?

By promising, for the umpteen time, transparent and genuine democracy, a high-performance people-centric economy, social justice and human development, and better federal-state relationship and foreign policy simply do not mean that Pakatan is getting anywhere nearer to Putrajaya.

Tis more like a case of daydreaming or to be more precise, mere wishful thinking.

While political observers have rightfully pointed out that the rakyat's support for Pakatan has dwindled since the March 8 elections, its leaders remained too aloof to admit this.

Whenever the mainstream media reported instances of internal bickering and problems within their loose coalition, media bashing will automatically be the order of the day.

These Pakatan leaders have failed to grasp the enormous responsibility that comes with power and the results speak for themselves.

At the end of the day, the public has finally accepted the fact that DAP, PKR and PAS cannot stay united for long due to their vastly differing political ideals.

It will be interesting to see for how long the likes of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang, Guan Eng and Datuk Seri Hadi Awang can put up a brave front and try sweep things under the carpet.

But until that day comes, these incompatible bedfellows will continue sleeping together with one snoring, one drooling and the other with one eye open...
